Floral Valentine's Decor

Image
Inspired by the Kissing Ball I decided to take some left over flowers I had and attach them to a styrofoam ball. I then covered a wooden dowel with green ribbon and added a bow. To make it stand I glued it down using hot glue. Filled the vase with some small acrylic filler and added a few pink hearts. Super easy and it looks really pretty in my guest bath.  Thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!

Valentine's Day LOVE Decor

Image
LOVE in a shadowbox frame. I put this up for a Valentines Day decoration. The frame opening is 11x14 and opens from the front which makes it really easy.  I layered the letters and also the frames around the letters so they would stand out a bit. I did 5 layers on each. Products used-Cricut Folk Art Festival Cart for font. The Cricut Expression two built in cart for the frames around letters. Anna Griffin/Cuttlebug-Rosa embossing folder, lace ribbon, pink pearls and Little Birdie roses. I believe this Anna Griffin or Graphic 45 paper but not positive. I have had it for years, one of those great finds when I decided to organize. :) Thank you for visiting! Happy Crafting!

Happy Valentine's Day!

A card I made for my hubby today. I used the Bird Crazy Tim Holtz line to make this card. The paper is from Graphic 45-Mon Amour 6x6 pack. I love these birds and the accessory stamps you can get to go with them. They're so fun!  Tim Holtz Bird Crazy sets Graphic 45 Mon Amour Paper    Thank you for visiting!  Happy Card Making! :)

Fourth of July Crafts

Image
Been so busy lately making crafts for the upcoming 4th, here are a few things I have been doing....                   Pinwheels! I used a die cut for the pinwheels, then attached them to straws using two small brads, one in the front and one on the back that attached to the straw. They do function and will go around when hit with wind. I attached to straws with two brads each. I didn't have a short container around so I used a plastic creamer bottle that I cleaned out and cut down. I then wrapped it with packing paper and decorated that with stickers, paper and some stars I punched out.    The other Rockets I had made were for a friend. I made these to put on my porch. Just wrapped some toilet paper rolls with card-stock, made a cone for the top, fringed some coordinating paper for the bottom, glued a stick to them which I stained using Tim Holts inks. I used my scraps to decorate...

Fourth of July Rockets!

Image
My friend that I craft with most loves rockets. She saw some at the store but they were very overpriced, so I made a few rockets for her. For the rockets I used toilet paper rolls and covered them in patterned patriotic paper. The tops I cut out a circle, then cut out a triangle from that, rolled them into cone shapes and glued them on top. The fringe I cut at 6 inches and combined them together then glued them to the inside of the toilet paper roll. I also cut a few circles to fit in the inside bottom with a hole in the center. This allowed me to later glue the paper covered wooden sticks in the center of the rocket.   The cylinder I made out of  chipboard. I wanted to have something that the rockets were being shot out of. I cut it 8 inches high and 14 inches long. I scored one inch lines. Then I dry brushed it white. Don't put the paint directly onto the chipboard or it will get too wet. I cut strips and glued them on. I punched holes on both ends and ...

Easter Egg #4

Image
This is the last egg I have done for my Easter Ornament Tree.  The flowers are made from a silicon mold. I used a light yellow glitter glue for the front and I painted the brads on the back to match the ribbon. I used two paints on a very bright green brad. The Martha Stewart Pearl paints I found when I was wanting to paint glass so this really adheres nicely to brads.  Once I am done putting all the hangers on I will show the whole tree along with all the products used.  Thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!!

Easter Egg #3

Image
I used Tim Holtz grunge-board and a rub on for these. I used the words, Love, Hope and Faith for the three. I love pink and silver together so I used some silver wire around the wording and for the brads on the back of the egg. Added glitter to the silver brads and green glitter to the metal leaves.  Thank you for visiting!  Happy Crafting!

Paper Mache Easter Egg #2

Image
Here is my 2nd design I created of four that I am working on.  This embellishment is another one I haven't tried before. This was made with hot glue poured into a mold. I was surprised at how easy this was to do once I got over my fear...lol. I was thinking the hot glue would ruin the mold, but it really worked great I thought. :) Thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!!

Easter Eggs

Image
I'm using paper mache eggs for my Easter decor this year. I have never decorated paper mache eggs before. I'm going to try a few new things as I go. My plan is to decorate 12 eggs, 4 sets of 3 of a kind. I finished my first set this week.  I had so much fun on these. I first primed the eggs then painted them using Martha Stewart pearl paints, Champagne and Mother of pearl, added ribbon and embellishments. In making the clay impression I simply pressed a cross stamp into the clay. I formed it on the egg after it was partially dry but still manipulable. Once molded I let it dry before gluing it onto the egg. I then painted the cross portion using the Mother of pearl. I purposely let it crack and filled those in using brown acrylic paint and rubbing it off leaving the cracks filled trying to get an aged feel. I then covered the remainder of the clay and the front portion of the egg using the color, Champagne. The sparkle around the cross is Ice Stickles, Platinum glitter gl...

I love the snowflakes on the Winter Lace cart. Each one of them has a different symbol in them. This one has hearts and being winter I made a Valentine's card out of snowflakes and kept the colors neutral. I did this for a contest that I did not win, but I love the card. I embossed all the flakes and the Winter Kisses tag. You can hardly see it but there are clear embossed snowflakes to the right and left of the tag. The snowflakes on the card are embossed with gold then with winter wonderland and finally a clear coat. I had made two of these, one for the contest and one for my hubby. Its one of my favorite Valentines cards I have made. Thank you for visiting. :)

Valentines Day Cards

Image
These cards I did for charity. I wanted to make a lot in a very short time frame. I made 24 of them and they came together very quickly thanks to some great punches I found.  I saw a friend using a scallop heart punch and I loved the look. So Friday I went on the hunt for it and found not one but two!! Of course I had to get them both...lol The paper is Anna GriffinValentina Collection. I punched the inside hearts from one page she had full of them. The scallop edges match the scallop on the hearts. The edge punch is from EK success I had gotten as a Christmas gift. What fun punches these were to use. Now I am off to make my hubby something special for Valentines Day. Thank you for visiting and Happy Craftin!! :)
