Happy Valentine's Day!

Image
A card I made for my hubby today. I used the Bird Crazy Tim Holtz line to make this card. The paper is from Graphic 45-Mon Amour 6x6 pack. I love these birds and the accessory stamps you can get to go with them. They're so fun!  Tim Holtz Bird Crazy sets Graphic 45 Mon Amour Paper    Thank you for visiting!  Happy Card Making! :)

Navy Cards

Image
We sponsor a soldier in the Navy and here are a few cards I put together tonight. Wanting to get a good stash going so I can be sure and get one out at least once a week.     Since these are going in the mail and overseas I haven't wanted to make them bulky or have too much weight so keeping it mostly paper. The ones with embellishments I will put in with the packages we send every few weeks. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Craftin!

I love the snowflakes on the Winter Lace cart. Each one of them has a different symbol in them. This one has hearts and being winter I made a Valentine's card out of snowflakes and kept the colors neutral. I did this for a contest that I did not win, but I love the card. I embossed all the flakes and the Winter Kisses tag. You can hardly see it but there are clear embossed snowflakes to the right and left of the tag. The snowflakes on the card are embossed with gold then with winter wonderland and finally a clear coat. I had made two of these, one for the contest and one for my hubby. Its one of my favorite Valentines cards I have made. Thank you for visiting. :)

Valentines Day Cards

Image
These cards I did for charity. I wanted to make a lot in a very short time frame. I made 24 of them and they came together very quickly thanks to some great punches I found.  I saw a friend using a scallop heart punch and I loved the look. So Friday I went on the hunt for it and found not one but two!! Of course I had to get them both...lol The paper is Anna GriffinValentina Collection. I punched the inside hearts from one page she had full of them. The scallop edges match the scallop on the hearts. The edge punch is from EK success I had gotten as a Christmas gift. What fun punches these were to use. Now I am off to make my hubby something special for Valentines Day. Thank you for visiting and Happy Craftin!! :)

Christmas Cards

On all my cards I used a new cart I just got from the Circle, Paper Trimmings. I did three different styles. On all I glittered the tree and the frame with Scribbles/Crystal. I embossed all the backgrounds behind the tree using the swiss dots embossing folder. On this one I first put gold on the folder prior to embossing. I also added gold to the tan background. Can't see it too well on the photo. On the star and trunk I used a gold metalic pen along with used Scribbles/Glitter Gold. I love using ink on embossing folders and I did that on the darker blue background using Memento white and silver pigment ink. The folder is Sizzix/Snowflakes. The star I used Studio glitter glue/Silver and the trunk I used a silver metalic pen and Scribbles/Silver Glitter. On the tree I used the layer option on the cart instead of leaving it white. I had to add some green, now the actual card itself is a dark green, the picture almost makes it appear black. I always have loved the red ...

I used Create a Critter for this cute turkey cut. I find myself using this cart all the time. For his feathers I embossed using Divine Swirls/Cuttlebug. The hat and the circle background is using Swiss Dots/Cuttlebug.  I edged all with brown ink and used tiny black brads for the eyes. The leaves were the most fun part of making the card. I crinkled up brown paper, soaked it in water, once dry I ironed it flat. I stained it using Tim Holtz inks, cranberry, butterscotch, oregeno and rust colors. I cut the paper into strips, then used ProvoCrafts fall leaf die cuts. Now the funny part is I used the brown wrapping paper I found from my package of carts I ordered from Cricut.  It was such a nice thin piece of paper I thought this could make some nice leaves...and this is what came of that. So fun!! and the lowest cost paper I could find....well not included the carts I bought...LOL The sign I used another die cut from ProvoCraft, its from the alphabet c...

Christmas Card

Do you have a cart that you are just itchin to try? Mine is Snow Angel. This cart has so many wonderful Christams images. So many you will have a hard time choosing which one to start with. After staring at the booklet for about an hour I finally decided to go with my favorite Christmas flower, the poinsettia. Don't you just love these? So bright and cheery.     The image was printed at 3.5 along with an extra top layer of the flowers so that I could pop dot them and add some depth off of the pot. I added some glitter to the dark portion of he flowers, leaves and centers.     Now with the Imagine you can often ruin the image if it gets very wet with glues or glitter glue so gel and glitter pens are a great alternative choice. You will find it helps keep the paper even and not crinkle, also the color won't bleed as it often does with stickles.      Shading was done using memento ink, then I just ad...

Having Fun with the Imagine & Lori's Garden Cartridge

Blogiversary Imagine Layer and Print Challenge

Image
For this card I used cuts from the Imagine Lori's Garden cart. The print background is also from Lori's Garden. The shape of the background was also cut using the Imagine and the already loaded shapes, then I just rounded a few of the corners. Did some shading and added some ribbon at the bottom. I love the colors/papers on this cart along with the beautiful images it has to select from.

Cricut Circle Blogiversary Sketch Challenge

For this challenge I used the From My Kitchen and Accent Essentials Carts. I painted the pot, spoon and spatula with Tim Holtz sliver alcohol ink. The cherry is covered in red and green pearl pen. Inside I will put my favorite pie recipe and give it to a friend. :)
