Easter Egg #3

Image
I used Tim Holtz grunge-board and a rub on for these. I used the words, Love, Hope and Faith for the three. I love pink and silver together so I used some silver wire around the wording and for the brads on the back of the egg. Added glitter to the silver brads and green glitter to the metal leaves.  Thank you for visiting!  Happy Crafting!

Paper Mache Easter Egg #2

Image
Here is my 2nd design I created of four that I am working on.  This embellishment is another one I haven't tried before. This was made with hot glue poured into a mold. I was surprised at how easy this was to do once I got over my fear...lol. I was thinking the hot glue would ruin the mold, but it really worked great I thought. :) Thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!!

Easter Eggs

Image
I'm using paper mache eggs for my Easter decor this year. I have never decorated paper mache eggs before. I'm going to try a few new things as I go. My plan is to decorate 12 eggs, 4 sets of 3 of a kind. I finished my first set this week.  I had so much fun on these. I first primed the eggs then painted them using Martha Stewart pearl paints, Champagne and Mother of pearl, added ribbon and embellishments. In making the clay impression I simply pressed a cross stamp into the clay. I formed it on the egg after it was partially dry but still manipulable. Once molded I let it dry before gluing it onto the egg. I then painted the cross portion using the Mother of pearl. I purposely let it crack and filled those in using brown acrylic paint and rubbing it off leaving the cracks filled trying to get an aged feel. I then covered the remainder of the clay and the front portion of the egg using the color, Champagne. The sparkle around the cross is Ice Stickles, Platinum glitter gl...

Mini Boxes

One of the many things I was busy making when I was working the craft fairs were these cute little gift boxes. They are paper mache boxes that I painted using Martha Stewart pearl paint. This is the first time I tried these paints and I really do love the look of the sheen and softness you get. It covers very well. For these three box colors I used, in order, champagne, jet stream and mother of pearl.  The rosettes I made from a 1.5 in wide cut and then used a border punch prior to creating the rosette.  White flowers are my favorite to buy because I can always add the right color when I need it. I had three layers and painted the mid layer the same color as I used on the box. For the top petals I added glitter glue then put it together with a pearl brad. On the last box I used glitter paper for the rosette. The snowflake was made out of white paper which I painted silver and added a thick embossing powder to make it look a little like ice. ...

I'm Crafting.......

Wow! Its been a while since I have done any crafting. Did very little last year and mostly worked on craft fair items in 2013 so my posting went to the sidelines. I am working on some Easter items right now that I can't wait to show everyone. Something new, never have tried these before so I am really excited to see how they finish up. Anyone doing any purging lately? I have gone through all of my stuff at least twice in the last few months and I am seeing a lot of fun items that I have two of or am just not going to get around to using. I have also realized that I have an addiction to paper. Some of this, if I can actually bring myself to part with it, I will also be saying goodbye to. So its going to be a good time to come up with some packages for some future giveaways! Love doing those!! I hope to be done with my Easter project this weekend and I can hardly wait to see what everyone thinks. Take care n chat with you soon.
