Give Thanks

Image
I used Create a Critter for this cute turkey cut. I find myself using this cart all the time. For his feathers I embossed using Divine Swirls/Cuttlebug. The hat and the circle background is using Swiss Dots/Cuttlebug.  I edged all with brown ink and used tiny black brads for the eyes. The leaves were the most fun part of making the card. I crinkled up brown paper, soaked it in water, once dry I ironed it flat. I stained it using Tim Holtz inks, cranberry, butterscotch, oregeno and rust colors. I cut the paper into strips, then used ProvoCrafts fall leaf die cuts. Now the funny part is I used the brown wrapping paper I found from my package of carts I ordered from Cricut.  It was such a nice thin piece of paper I thought this could make some nice leaves...and this is what came of that. So fun!! and the lowest cost paper I could find....well not included the carts I bought...LOL The sign I used another die cut from ProvoCraft, its from the alphabet c...

Thanksgiving Placecards

Image
I used the Speaking of Fall Cartridge. This is another oldie but goodie. :) The cart itself did not have a placecard cut so I decided to use the images on folded paper creating a placecard. I embossed the red paper and then placed a fabric like paper underneath the name strip.  I then just placed the images on top next to the name.  My hubby got the turkey....lol Inside I placed a note telling each person one thing about them that we were thankful for. This particular card is for my Father In Law. My hubby wrote me his own message to me in my placecard.  After saying grace we have everyone read our notes to them.

Christmas lunch in Old Town

This is my father in law, Bernie with his nose in the flowers. Always trying to make us laugh. It was a cute little place we stopped to eat lunch at in Old Town, NM where we went shopping for the day. My hubby and I went down to visit over the Christmas holiday.       You may remember this photo from last week. I had followed a sketch for a contest and didn't like what I ended up with, even though I loved the paper it was on, it just wasn't right...so I decided to withdraw my entry and do something different. The contest is over but I am much happier with the page I came up with. I used the Christmas Cheer cart, still one of my favorites. The top lights are cut at 1 1/2 in and the bottom at 2 1/2 in. I cut them using white card stock, then I colored them with chalks, heat embossed using clear embossing powder and outlined the edges with ink. The tops of the lights are embossed using detail silver embossing powder. I coiled green...
