Simply 52 Card Sketch Challenge #3

Image
This is the sketch I needed to follow. I cut out the squares, by hand, then put a few of my plastic button halloween pieces on there cutting off the back before gluing them down. The pumpkins are brads I got from Oriental Trading. Ribbon is from Michaels. Please visit this site when you get a moment. They are just back up and running. They aren't just cards but also pages. http://www.simplyfiftytwo.com/ Thank you :)

Cricut Circle Halloween Home Decor Challenge

Image
Halloween Shadowbox The carts I used are many, Chic and Scary for the spider web, banner, skull/crossbones, candleabra and broom. Joys of the season for the fireplace/fire. Create a Critter for the leaves and pumpkins on mantel, Happy Hauntings for the cat/frame and the pumpkins on floor. Whew! I hope I named them all for you. It was a lot, but so so fun. This took me a good two days, but then again I changed my mind many times, so probably 1 day if you aren't as indecisive as me...lol The cat I heat embossed using clear deep impressions, the frame I used a combo of pirates gold and detail gold. The red cat mask at the top of the frame is also heat embossed using red tinsel. At the top, its a little hard to see the detail, but I made crown molding using a border embossing folder. I did some folds and created a slant appearing as crown molding would. The spider web I didn't like leaving black as webs glisten and this is part of their creepiness so I used Tim Holt...

Christmas Card

Image
Do you have a cart that you are just itchin to try? Mine is Snow Angel. This cart has so many wonderful Christams images. So many you will have a hard time choosing which one to start with. After staring at the booklet for about an hour I finally decided to go with my favorite Christmas flower, the poinsettia. Don't you just love these? So bright and cheery.     The image was printed at 3.5 along with an extra top layer of the flowers so that I could pop dot them and add some depth off of the pot. I added some glitter to the dark portion of he flowers, leaves and centers.     Now with the Imagine you can often ruin the image if it gets very wet with glues or glitter glue so gel and glitter pens are a great alternative choice. You will find it helps keep the paper even and not crinkle, also the color won't bleed as it often does with stickles.      Shading was done using memento ink, then I just ad...

My Craft Room

Image
Entrance to my craft room I've had such a wonderful response from all of you regarding my craft room I wanted to edit this and give you a few more details. The little cubby I call the princess lookout tower, yes I am in my 40's but who cares...lol This is my tower of cubes...haha. I got these so cheap at Michaels. The secret with these is to go to Michaels during a Black Friday sale, don't worry about be the very first allthough you should be there the first hour..everyone else is running to the cricut carts/supplys. I ended up getting these 80% off the regular price. Its been two years since that glorious day and I am still smiling over that sale. Last year I think they ended being about 70% but GO! GO! GO! :) This cabinet is the most expensive pieces I got at IKEA, but it holds soooo much. Its also a bit heavy which makes it nice and sturdy for your heavier items. I don't see this particular one on the IKEA website, but that doesn't mean its not t...

Having Fun with the Imagine & Lori's Garden Cartridge

Image

Blogiversary Imagine Layer and Print Challenge

Image
For this card I used cuts from the Imagine Lori's Garden cart. The print background is also from Lori's Garden. The shape of the background was also cut using the Imagine and the already loaded shapes, then I just rounded a few of the corners. Did some shading and added some ribbon at the bottom. I love the colors/papers on this cart along with the beautiful images it has to select from.

Cricut Circle Blogiversary Sketch Challenge

Image
For this challenge I used the From My Kitchen and Accent Essentials Carts. I painted the pot, spoon and spatula with Tim Holtz sliver alcohol ink. The cherry is covered in red and green pearl pen. Inside I will put my favorite pie recipe and give it to a friend. :)

Halloween Floral Arrangement

Image
These flowers were made using Sizzix Flower Layers. Some of the papers weren't able to be used in the Cricut Machine, they wouldn't stick to the mat which is why I decided to use the Sizzix. The brads are a lot of left over's so I was trying to think of a way to use those along with the witches brew container I found at Michaels and this is what I ended up with. The flower stems are from various types of wire that I bent and wrapped ato make the flowers feel a little more creepy. :)

Happy Halloween

Image
The cuts are from Celebrate with Flourish.  I used Stickles Eucalyptus on the green swirls. I distressed the background papers and used small black brads for the corners. This cart has some great images on it. I could use this one for many different occasions. The are not a lot of layers used on the images in this cart so if you like to use less layers,  this would be a nice cart for you to have.

Pom Pom Ice Cream Cone

Image
I got the idea to use this after seeing a video on http://joyslife.com/ on how to make PomPoms. I haven't made these for so long I needed to watch the video...lol. The ones I saw her make were so soft and fluffy it reminded me of ice cream. After a few trys at making this PomPom I finally got it the right size. I wrapped the yarn around two fingers and then cut it down almost half of what the origional size was. It won't be able to go in the mail unless in a small box, but I will more than likely give it to my neice for her Birthday in Spring.
